- Avoid Raw Foods: Cook your food well, especially meat and eggs. Don’t eat them raw. Also, be careful with seafood and unpasteurized milk. They can make you sick if not cleaned and cooked well.
- Eat Small Frequent Meals: If you are facing nausea or have lost your appetite in the initial phase of pregnancy then instead of eating large meals eat small frequent meals which can be tolerated and digested well.
- Talk to a Nutritionist: Every pregnancy is different. A nutritionist can help you assess your nutritional status and can help you with the foods that are best for you and your baby.
- Listen to Your Body: If you’re craving something, it’s okay to eat it, but make sure it’s something healthy. Your body knows what it needs. For example if you are craving too much sweets that means your body is asking for protein. However be careful to not indulge in mindless snacking on the name of craving.
