Which are the best home remedies to cure acidity ?

You have been fasting since the morning and suddenly you feel pain in your chest and abdomen. What is the reason?It’s been over 6 hours since we had anything other than  a glass of water.And  when you have food in front of you, you  feel like you don’t want to eat it. Why does this happen?Well the answer is Acidity…!But it can be cure with some home remedies.

It is one of the most common problems experienced by people.Although there are numerous reasons for acidity, most of us tend to either pop a pill or reach out for that bottle of antacid to get rid of acidity and resume our daily chores.However, every time you suffer from it, taking medicines may not be a very good option. Instead, you may attempt easy home treatments to cure acidity at domestic naturally

Acidity : Acid is just a  burning sensation in the chest.Acidity, also known as heartburn,  is caused by excessive acidity in the stomach, leading to imbalances.It also irritates the  lining of the intestine and in some cases affects the esophageal tissue, which can cause a burning sensation.he most common causes of acidity include frequent spicy food intake, irregular eating habits such as skipping meals and late-night meals, excessive stress, regular alcohol consumption, and lack of exercise.

Here are some home remedies to cure the acidity :

Tulsi leaves : It is considered to be one of the best natural acid therapies. Known for its medicinal properties, Tulsi leaves can also provide quick relief from heartburn and gas.

Tip : The easiest and best way to take Tulsi leaves for acidity is to chew 4 – 5 leaves when experiencing a burning sensation. However,  to get the most out of the juice, chew it slowly and swallow it. Alternatively, you can  enjoy a  warm Tulsi decoction. . All you have to do is put about 8-10 Tulsi leaves in a glass of water and boil it on low heat for 5 minutes.  Once the solution becomes half its initial volume, strain it and drink when warm. You can add honey, but you can’t add milk. This is because it can exacerbate an upset stomach.

Cinnamon (Dalchini) :Not many people know that cinnamon (Dalchini) can work as a natural digestive aid.  Indian spices often used in biryani and curry to add flavor and aroma to foods help combat the acidity caused by indigestion.

Tip : A simple trick to beat acidity is to add a pinch of cinnamon powder to a teaspoon of honey or water and consume it after a meal. This helps break down acidity, especially after heavy meals, and can aid digestion.

Cumin seeds( jeera) : This spice is used in foods to enhance its taste, but its role in the treatment of acidity is unknown. Jeera seeds contain compounds that act as natural boke’s and digestive agents to help relieve the acidity caused by indigestion and gas.

Tip : Cumin seeds can help with acidity when used in combination with other spices.. Mix 1 teaspoon of cumin, coriander  and fennel seed powder in 0.5 liters of water. Add a teaspoon of sugar and mix all  ingredients properly. Drink this solution after a meal to get rid of acid and start a healthy day.

Buttermilk ( chaas ) : Buttermilk is known as a cooling drink that not only neutralizes excess acid in the stomach, but also calms the stomach. This drink if taken after meals can also aid digestion due to the presence of probiotic bacteria that are good for gut health.

Tip : You can drink plain buttermilk with a pinch of salt for quick relief from acidity. However, by adding a few Indian spices to plain buttermilk you can make the remedy more effective. Add fenugreek paste (grind ½ tsp. of fenugreek or methi seeds with a little water) and mix it in a glass of buttermilk. Drink it all through the day to get relief.

Carom seeds ( Ajwain) : Ajwain is one of the most common and  popular home remedies for treating gas and acidity caused by indigestion. Bloating , stomach pain and stomach cramps are common symptoms of gas and indigestion.

Tip : to get rid of acidity and indigestion, take 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of Ajwain powder and mix  with an equal amount of dry ginger powder. Add a little black salt. After meals, drink with a glass of water.
